In 2025, Georgina von Etzdorf will embark on a new chapter stepping away from her renowned career as textile designer, to focus on other artistic endeavours.
Georgina’s life and work has been illuminated by the vibrant colours and light of her surroundings - from her childhood in Lima, Peru, to the mountains in Spain, to soaking up the nuances of everyday life. These rich experiences coupled with her deep love for people, places and history have infused her work with the sensory narratives that have long defined her creative excursions.
Georgina rose to international prominence in the early 1980’s co - founding the Georgina von Etzdorf brand alongside Martin Simcock and Jonathan Docherty.
Her textile designs known for their fluid, painterly qualities stirring the senses, were embraced by rock legends and Royalty alike.
This exhibition of paintings - a selection of historic works on paper - have evolved during her years as a textile designer. Explorations of composition, movement atmosphere, rythyms of light, colour and words, have fed into her output in other disciplines. They are personal expressions of joy and intrigue, in the pursuit of a life well loved and lived.
